Today's Choices

I've been really into female singers lately and I have a lot of catching up to do. In unrelated news I have a job interview on Friday! (Yay!)

Phantogram is and incredible band and one of my more recent favorites. I like her voice kinda flowing over the music and keeping everything together. It's like soft but strong at the same time.

Best Coast knows what they're doing. Their sound is the exact kind of music you'd hear when you think of the California coast. Her voice is kinda harsh usually but it seems like she's softened it up a bit with this album. I like how in this particular song she describes this love she feels for this person. It's just so over-powering for her that she'd do anything to be with them. Like they're the best part of her, and if she lost them then she'd fall apart.

Another Best Coast track. I like this one because of it's ballad build. Her voice and the music are really simple and build up to this great end. You can also really hear the feelings in this song and how much she loves this guy.
